An unverified report just coming in indicates that about seventy persons have been kidnapped in the Yarkatsina community in Bungudu Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Njenje Media News reports.
According to sources, women and children formed a large chunk of those abducted while some cattles were also rustled by the men who were armed while carrying out the attack.
No casualty has been recorded yet from the attack.
Investigations revealed that the bandits have earlier vowed to halt all farming activities in the affected communities and the attack was as a result of that threat.
Police spokesman, Superintendent Shehu Mohammed said the Police are not yet aware of the incident but noted that they would look into it and make the outcome known once the incident has been confirmed.
