As we approach a pivotal moment in the history of the Ohaneze Ndigbo, I extend my heartfelt appeal to the delegates entrusted with the duty of electing our new President General and his executives. This election comes at a critical juncture for Alaigbo, where our collective identity, security, and future hang in the balance. The choices we make now will resonate throughout the years, shaping the destiny of our people and our homeland.
It is a decision that carries the weight of Ndigbo’s collective future at a time when Nigeria stands at a crossroads—developmentally, economically, and security-wise.
Throughout this week, we had the privilege of engaging with each of the candidates for the office of the PG via “Meet The Aspirants” organised by Njenje Medaia TV with a global Igbo audience in attendance. Through these interviews, we gained insights into their visions and aspirations for Ndigbo. These interactions revealed one undeniable truth: the stakes have never been higher. Their words were powerful, filled with hope and determination. Yet, as we stand on the verge of making one of the most important decisions in our recent history as Ndigbo, I urge you to look beyond personal interests and consider the broader implications of your choice.
The question before us is not just who will lead Ohaneze Ndigbo, but, who will embody the hopes and aspirations of every Igbo man, woman, and child in Nigeria and across the diaspora.
Nigeria is at a critical impasse—developmentally, economically, and in terms of security. Our people face unprecedented challenges that demand a leader with the vision and capability to rise above the fray.
To the electorates, I urge you to vote with history in mind and the future in sight. This is not a moment for sentiment, ego, or personal gain. It is a call to choose a leader who can unify our people across all states where Igbos are found beyond the 7 states of Ohaneze, inspire progress, and work collaboratively with our governors to restore sanity to AlaIgbo. Select someone who can stand as a beacon of hope and a defender of our collective interests, both at home, in the broader Nigerian landscape and in the Diaspora.
Ndigbo needs a leader who will heal the cracks in our unity and champion our cause with unwavering courage. Choose someone with a clear vision for rebuilding our communities, advancing our economy, and protecting our people. This decision is not just about today; it is about securing a future where our children can live with dignity, safety, and opportunity.
To those who may not emerge victorious in this election, I implore you to put Ndigbo first. Rally around the winner, offering your experience, resources, and wisdom to support the collective goal. There is no room for division or bitterness—only unity can propel us forward. Politics and States might separate us, but our shared identity and aspirations should bind us together beyond the election. The interests of Ndi Igbo must always come first, above personal ambitions and grievances.
Together, we can achieve so much more. Let us shelve our egos, transcend our differences, and focus on the collective destiny of Ndigbo. By standing united, we send a powerful message to the world: that we are a people bound not by tribe or tongue but by a shared commitment to excellence and progress.
Let this election mark the beginning of a new chapter for AlaIgbo. A chapter defined by collaboration, resilience, and an unyielding commitment to the Igbo spirit. Ndi Ohaneze, the time is now—choose wisely.
Ndigbo deserves nothing less.
