A joint security operation led by the Anambra State Police Command has dislodged and destroyed an Eastern Security Network (ESN)/Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) militia camp in Aguluezechukwu, Aguata Local Government Area.

The raid, carried out in the early hours of September 2, 2025, involved troops from the 302 Artillery Regiment, 14 Field Engineer Regiment, operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), and members of the Anambra State Vigilante. The coordinated operation lasted more than five hours.

According to the police, the militia members fled after sustaining varying degrees of gunshot wounds. Security operatives recovered a white Lexus 470 SUV and several Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) from the camp, which was subsequently destroyed.

Authorities said the area has since been stabilized and remains calm. Monitoring operations are ongoing to ensure the safety of residents while efforts continue to track down fleeing suspects.
