In a significant move aimed at restructuring his administration, President Bola Tinubu has dismissed six ministers from his cabinet. This decision, announced on Wednesday, is part of a broader effort to enhance government efficiency and address critical issues facing the nation, Njenje Media News reports.

The ministers relieved of their duties include Prof. Tahir Mamman (Education), Uju Kennedy Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Mohammed Gwarzo (State for Housing), Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), and the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Betta Edu.

President Tinubu has forwarded the names of seven new ministerial nominees to the National Assembly for confirmation. Among the new appointees is Bianca Ojukwu, who has been nominated as the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. The reshuffle also includes the reassignment of ten ministers to new portfolios.

Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, while briefing the press after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting, emphasized that the new appointments are a call to national service. He urged the new and reassigned ministers to fully commit to the administration’s vision of setting Nigeria on a path of irreversible growth.

President Tinubu thanked the outgoing ministers for their service and extended his best wishes for their future endeavours. He highlighted the importance of the new ministers investing their best efforts to realize the government’s priorities and improve the lives of Nigerians.

This cabinet reshuffle comes amidst growing scrutiny of the administration’s performance and is seen as a strategic move to reinvigorate the government’s approach to tackling the nation’s challenges
