In a major setback to President Bola Tinubu, a U.S Judge Nancy Maldonado has adopted all the ruling of Magistrate Judge Jeffrey Gilbert of the U.S District Court, Northern District of Illinois, ordering the immediate release of the academic records of Tinubu by the Chicago State University (CSU). The Judge further warned Tinubu against further appeal as the Court would not entertain such.

The ruling came after Tinubu, a former Nigerian senator and the “contested” Nigerian President, sued CSU, seeking to keep secret the records of his academic records, and had argued that the release of the documents would be detrimental to his public image and reputation.

Judge Maldonado gave CSU until 12 noon on Monday 2nd October to release the documents and the deposition of officials of CSU to be completed by 5pm CDT on Tuesday. The documents to be released include Tinubu’s academic transcripts, class schedules, attendance records, and grades.

However, Judge Maldonado has warned Tinubu against further appeals as the court would not entertain such.
