British High Commissioner Expresses Condolences on the Passing of Chief Iwuanyanwu

The British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Richard Montgomery CMG, has expressed deep condolences following the passing of His Excellency, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, the President General of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo Worldwide.

 

In a message addressed to the Iwuanyanwu family and the Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo community, Montgomery conveyed the sorrow of the British High Commission over the loss. He recounted his meeting with Chief Iwuanyanwu last year during a courtesy visit to the Ohanaeze Secretariat in Enugu.

 

“I recall my meeting with him last year when I visited Enugu and paid him a courtesy visit at the Ohanaeze Secretariat. He shared with me his plans for Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, which were laudable. We discussed building bridges between the United Kingdom and Ndi Igbo of Southeast Nigeria, on which I welcomed his wise advice,” Montgomery said.

 

The High Commissioner praised Chief Iwuanyanwu as a visionary leader who was deeply committed to the advancement of his people. He noted that he left the meeting with valuable insights from a man determined to create a positive impact on his community.

 

“On behalf of the British High Commission in Nigeria, I send you our heartfelt condolences. May his legacies continue to speak for him,” Montgomery added.

 

He extended his deepest sympathies to the entire Iwuanyanwu family and the broader Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo community, concluding his message with the assurance of his highest regard.

 

Chief Iwuanyanwu’s passing marks a significant loss for the Igbo community and the nation at large, with many mourning the departure of a respected and influential leader.
