Popular Nigerian socialite Pascal Okechukwu, better known as Cubana Chief Priest, has alleged that Davido’s loss at the 2026 Grammy Awards is part of a deliberate effort to frustrate the singer for refusing to compromise his values.
Davido fell short in the Best African Music Performance category, losing to South African artiste Tyla at the ceremony held on Sunday. In a reaction shared on Instagram, Cubana Chief Priest claimed that influential figures in the Western music industry have consistently worked against Davido because he has refused to engage in practices he described as immoral.
He argued that the setbacks at the Grammys were not mere coincidences but intentional moves to break the artiste’s resolve. In his words, foreign industry players are doing everything possible to weaken a strong man so he can join them in what he labelled “demonic” behaviour.
Cubana Chief Priest encouraged Davido to remain steadfast and continue producing music for his fans. He urged the singer to stay focused and release new tracks despite the disappointment, noting that the music will keep flowing.
