Operatives of the Department of State Services have arrested a suspected commander of the Eastern Security Network, Sabastine Odo Odam, over alleged involvement in a series of deadly attacks in Isi-Uzo Local Government Area.

Odam is accused of leading assaults that resulted in the killing of 11 labourers and five police officers in the area. He was arrested alongside Ejike Daniel, a suspected member of the Indigenous People of Biafra, during an intelligence driven operation carried out on Friday, March 6, in Eha-Amufu and Umuhu communities.

Security sources said the operation followed months of surveillance over the suspects’ alleged role in attacks on police facilities and the theft of weapons later used in other assaults.

According to the sources, the suspects confessed to coordinating several attacks, including the killing of 11 labourers on February 26, as well as the murder of five police officers between December 24, 2025 and January 26, 2026.

Residents of Isi-Uzo Local Government Area have welcomed the arrests, expressing hope that the development will help restore peace in communities affected by recurring violence.

Both suspects are currently being held by the Department of State Services and are expected to be arraigned in court soon.
