Legendary action star Chuck Norris is dead, according to a statement shared on his official Instagram page by his family. The announcement said the 86 year old passed away yesterday morning in Hawaii, surrounded by loved ones, who described his death as peaceful while asking for privacy regarding the circumstances.

 

In the statement, the family paid tribute to Norris as “a martial artist, actor, and a symbol of strength” who inspired millions around the world. They also remembered him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and the heart of their family, highlighting his life of faith, purpose, discipline, and kindness.

 

The news comes just days after Norris marked his 86th birthday with a video showing him in action, declaring, “I don’t age. I level up,” while expressing gratitude for good health and the continued support of his fans.

 

The family also acknowledged his recent hospitalization and thanked supporters for their prayers, saying the love he received meant deeply to him. They added that fans were not just supporters but friends, and requested privacy as they mourn his passing.

 

Born Carlos Ray Norris Jr. in 1940, he rose to prominence as a martial artist before transitioning into Hollywood, becoming one of the defining action stars of the 1980s and 1990s.

He starred in films such as Way of the Dragon alongside Bruce Lee, and later headlined hits like Missing in Action and Delta Force.

He also gained a new generation of fans through the long running television series Walker, Texas Ranger, cementing his status as a cultural icon known for his toughness, discipline, and enduring screen presence.
