BOKKOS BLEEDS WHILE NIGERIA WATCHES: WHEN WILL ENOUGH BE ENOUGH?

The Movement for the Emancipation of Nigeria (MEN) mourns, weeps, and is

outraged by the incessant and cowardly acts of mass murder, ethnic cleansing, and targeted annihilation of innocent citizens in Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. The most recent spate of attacks, carried out between April 2 and 3, 2025, has led to the confirmed killing of over 60 people, including women, children, and the elderly. Entire communities—Mangor Tamiso, Daffo, Manguna, Hurti, Tadai, and Ruwi—have been thrown into mourning, their lands desecrated and their homes razed by bloodthirsty militias believed to be Fulani terrorists.

We are appalled by the glaring silence and ineffectiveness of the Nigerian government and security agencies in the face of these atrocities. The question that haunts us all is: How many more mass graves must be dug before Nigeria acts?

Let it be known across Nigeria and the world that what is happening in Bokkos is not random—it is systematic, coordinated, and genocidal. It is the slow but deliberate erasure of indigenous Christian communities under the pretext of farmer-herder clashes, while the world watches in deafening silence.

We, the Movement for the Emancipation of Nigeria (MEN), state as follows:

We stand in total solidarity with the people of Bokkos and all other terrorized communities across Nigeria. Your pain is our pain, your fight is our fight.

We demand the immediate designation of these Fulani militias as terrorist organizations by the Nigerian government and international community.

We call for the establishment of a special investigative tribunal to probe these killings and bring perpetrators and their sponsors to justice, no matter how highly placed.

We demand the immediate deployment of a permanent special security task force to Bokkos LGA, adequately equipped and mandated to repel any further aggression.

We insist on the eviction of all foreign mercenaries and land-grabbers who have turned ancestral lands into killing fields.

We call on all Nigerians, particularly civil society groups, the clergy, and youth movements to rise and speak against this evil. Silence is complicity.

We also commend the courage and empathy of groups like the Butura Development Association, whose show of solidarity with the grieving people of Ruwi exemplifies the true Plateau spirit—one of resilience, unity, and compassion in the face of evil.

This is not just a Plateau issue. This is not just a Middle Belt issue. This is a Nigerian crisis. A people abandoned by their government is a people who must rise to protect themselves. If the state fails, the people must not fail themselves.

MEN will not relent. MEN will not be silent. MEN will not stand by while our people are slaughtered.

We call on the international community, particularly human rights groups and global watchdogs, to pay attention and document this horror. Genocide, by whatever name it hides, must be exposed and stopped.

Let the world know: Bokkos shall not bleed in vain.
