The Obidient Movement welcomes the Supreme Court’s judgment removing the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Labour Party led by Barrister Julius Abure and recognising the Caretaker Committee under the leadership of Dr. Nenadi Usman.
While we hope this ruling marks the end of the protracted leadership crisis within the party, our greater wish is that it paves the way for the much-needed stability at this critical time. As a movement, we have chosen to embrace a “no victor, no vanquished” stance, especially in recognition of the contributions of the Abure-led NWC to the party’s growth and its sacrifices during the 2023 presidential election involving His Excellency, Peter Obi.
We commend the Supreme Court for this bold and decisive ruling, which stands as a victory for democracy and the rule of law in Nigeria. A thriving democracy depends on a strong and credible opposition and today’s judgment represents a triumph for the Nigerian people.
To those who still doubt Nigeria’s future, this ruling reaffirms our belief that, indeed A New Nigeria Is Possible.
