The apex court ruling on Friday, August 23, 2024, concluded Uzodimma’s prolonged legal battle and solidified his position after earlier victories at both the Governorship and House of Assembly Election Tribunal and the Court of Appeal.

The congratulatory message, delivered by the Secretary General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Ambassador Okey Emuchay, MFR, emphasized the significance of Uzodimma’s unwavering perseverance throughout the legal process. The statement also reflected on the spiritual aspect of his journey, likening it to divine favor, quoting the biblical verse, “I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, a key cultural and political organization representing the Igbo people, praised Uzodimma for his visionary leadership and numerous accomplishments during his time in office. His re-election on November 11, 2023, in which he won in all 27 local government areas of Imo State, was cited as a testament to his dedication and the trust the people of Imo State have in his leadership.

Among the many achievements highlighted by Ohanaeze were the successful completion of the 45-kilometer Okigwe-Owerri road, which had been neglected for over three decades, and the 34-kilometer stretch from Owerri to Orlu. Other significant projects include the Owerri-Umuahia road, the dredging of the Oguta/Orashi river, the reactivation of the long-abandoned 380KVA Egbema Power Plant, and advancements in healthcare and education within the state.
