Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide Concludes AGM, Secures Vote of Confidence for President General Mbata and Engages Rivers State Governor

Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide held its last Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, 20th December 2025, at Heloconia Hotels, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

 

In his address, the President General, Senator Azuta Mbata, commended members of the National Executive Committee (NEC) for their resilience, dedication and unwavering service to Igbo nation over the past one year. He also informed the NEC of the forthcoming Imeobi Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, 23rd December 2025, in Enugu, where the reviewed draft of the amended Ohanaeze Ndigbo Constitution will be presented, alongside a compendium marking the present NEC’s one year in office.

 

Members of NEC commended the President General in a galaxy of accolade for his dedication, inclusivity, benevolence, patriotism and self – evident selfless services to Igbo nation. In the light of this endorsement, the National Treasurer Dr Peter Aneke.moved a Vote of Confidence on behalf of the entire NEC on the President General and supported by Livingstone Wechie the Rivers State President.

 

Following the End of th Year meeting, the NEC paid a courtesy visit on the Governor of Rivers State, His Excellency Sir Siminalayi Fubara, at the Government House, Port Harcourt. Speaking on behalf of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Senator Mbata expressed gratitude to the Governor for granting the visit and praised his cordial relationship with Ndigbo in Rivers State, as well as his inclusive leadership across all ethnic groups.

In his response, Governor Fubara thanked Ohanaeze Ndigbo for the visit and reaffirmed his commitment to promoting unity, peace and effective service delivery for the benefit of all residents of Rivers State.

Prominent Rivers State leaders and stakeholders were present to receive the delegation. The President General on the other hand was accompanied by members of the Ohanaeze NEC and Expanded EXCO, including Prince Okey Nwadinobi, Deputy President General; H.E. Emeka Sibeudu, Secretary General; Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Olejeme, Vice President General (Delta), among others.
