Ohanaeze Ndigbo Officially Endorses Imo State Economic Summit 2025
Owerri, Nigeria — Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has formally endorsed the Imo State Economic Summit 2025, scheduled to take place from 4–5 December 2025 in Owerri. The summit is being convened by the Executive Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodinma, CON, and is expected to attract local and international stakeholders.
In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Dr Ezechi Chukwu, the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation expressed its full support for the initiative, describing it as timely, strategic, and aligned with the broader developmental aspirations of the Southeast.
The President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, Senator Azuta Mbata, highlighted the significance of the summit, applauding Governor Uzodinma for what he called a visionary move toward repositioning Imo State for accelerated economic growth.
“This remarkable initiative with the engagement of global stakeholders by Governor Uzodinma is a commendable and visionary step toward repositioning Imo State as a hub of innovation, investment and economic competitiveness,” Senator Mbata said. “It reflects the kind of bold leadership Alaigbo needs at this defining moment in our history.”
The summit, themed “Unlocking Imo’s Economic Potential: Partnership, Investment & Innovation,” is expected to focus on investment-driven development, job creation, and strategies for sustainable economic expansion. Ohanaeze noted that the objectives of the conference strongly align with its mission to champion the economic rebirth and long-term prosperity of Alaigbo.
Ohanaeze reaffirmed its commitment to supporting programmes and policies that promote progress, stability, and improved quality of life for Ndigbo across the region.
The statement further commended Governor Uzodinma for initiating the summit and encouraged robust participation from government agencies, the private sector, development partners, and the broader Igbo community to ensure meaningful outcomes.
