Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has expressed shock and sadness over the sudden death of Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, representing Anambra South Senatorial District.
“I received a rude shock this morning upon learning of Senator Ubah’s passing,” Obi said in a statement. “We had met just two weeks ago at a burial in Nnewi, Anambra State, where he welcomed me warmly and expressed his commitment to serving our people despite our party differences.”
Obi praised Ubah’s philanthropic efforts through his foundation, which supported education, healthcare, and poverty alleviation initiatives. “I urged him to continue his good work, and I commend him for his contributions to humanity,” Obi added.
Obi concluded by offering his condolences to Ubah’s family, constituents, and the nation, saying, “May God forgive his sins, grant him eternal rest, and give us the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
