Qatar Makes U-Turn, Accepts President Tinubu's Visitation Request For Business Parley

Qatar has now accepted President Tinubu’s request for a business meeting, as revealed in a letter from the Qatari government to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The letter states that the Qatar Chamber of Commerce will host the business parley on March 3rd, 2024.

This development follows a previous setback, as a leaked document suggested that Qatar initially declined President Tinubu’s scheduled visit. The Qatari government had cited the absence of a legally binding agreement between Qatar and Nigeria for investment promotion as a reason for the initial refusal. Additionally, the Qatari Ministry of Commerce had mentioned prior commitments on the specified dates for President Tinubu’s intended visit.

It appears that the diplomatic discord has been resolved, paving the way for the upcoming business parley between President Tinubu and Qatari officials.
