The remains of a former Senator Buruji Kashamu who represented the Ogun East senatorial district at the 8th Assembly, who also contested the 2019 gubernatorial elections in the state with former Aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan as his running mate, Reubin Abati was buried in the ancient city of Ijebu-Igbo, the headquarters of Ijebu North local government area of Ogun State today, Sunday the 9th of August, 2020.

Njenje Media News reports that the state stood still as he was laid to rest in the ancient city today. Mourners were seen defying the NCDC guidelines on Covid-19 regarding social distancing.
