On Saturday, 1st March, 2025, H. E. Senator Enyinnaya Harcourt Abaribe (Mma Agha Ndi Igbo), a Nigerian political icon, and the fearless and intelligent voice of the Igbo Nation at the Nigerian Senate turned 70 years.
Family, Friends, and Associates gathered at Seventh Day Adventist Church, Umuoriehi, Umuahia by 9am for his Birthday Thanksgiving Service and thereafter moved to The International Conference Center (ICC), Umuahia, for a Grand Birthday Reception hosted by the Abia State Government.
Many distinguished Nigerians which included *H.E. Godswill Akpabio,GCON,* Senate President; *H. E. Mr. Peter Obi,CON, *former Governor of Anambra State & 2023 Labour Party Presidential Candidate; *Prince Okey Nwadinobi*, Deputy President General, Ohanaeze Ndigbo; *Rt Hon Emmanuel Ihuoma Emeruwa,* Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly; and many colleagues of Senator Abaribe at the National Assembly, past and present,were in attendance at Umuahia for the Birthday activities.
It should be noted that *H.E. Dr. Alex Otti, OFR*, Governor of Abia State, and a chieftain of the *Labour Party*, organized the grand State Reception for Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe who is a member of an opposition party, *All Progressive Grand Alliance(APGA)*, as a mark of honor for Senator Abaribe’s remarkable contributions in the Nigerian polity. Many attendees at the Birthday Celebrations commented that this non partisan disposition of H.E. Dr. Alex Otti is worthy of emulation by other politicians in South East Nigeria. If this type of non partisanship and honoring genuine achievers prevails in the *South East Governors Forum(SEGOF)* and *South East Development Commission(SEDC)* then the envisaged Renaissance of the Igbo Nation will have truly commenced,
