His professional career spans senior roles in both national and international financial institutions. At the Central Bank of Nigeria, Yuguda served as Director of the Reserve Management Department from 2010 to 2016, overseeing the management and diversification of Nigeria’s foreign exchange reserves and implementing disciplined investment strategies. Internationally, Yuguda served as an economist in the Africa Department of the International Monetary Fund in Washington, D.C., from 1997 to 2001, managing balance-of-payments support programs and assessing economic policies for African member countries.

Most recently, he was Director-General of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Nigeria between 2020 and 2024, where he oversaw reforms in Nigeria’s capital markets, investor protection initiatives, and regulatory enforcement. He has also held board positions at the Africa Finance Corporation and Premium Pension Limited.

Yuguda’s professional credentials include the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation, fellowship with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He has completed executive leadership programs at top institutions including Harvard, INSEAD, IMD, Oxford Saïd Business School, Wharton, and London Business School.
