President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has condemned the recent terrorist attacks in Maiduguri, describing them as desperate acts, while reaffirming that Nigeria will ultimately defeat insurgent groups.

He expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and sympathised with the injured, assuring residents of Borno State of the Federal Government’s full support. The President said the attacks were deeply disturbing and carried out by criminal elements trying to spread fear despite growing pressure from security forces.

Tinubu described the incidents as the final frantic attempts of terrorist groups being confronted by the military and other security agencies nationwide. He also commended security personnel for their bravery, especially in repelling coordinated attacks on military positions in the state.

He assured Nigerians that efforts to eliminate terrorism and criminality would be intensified, adding that more equipment and operational support have been approved to strengthen ongoing operations.

The President directed security chiefs to relocate immediately to Maiduguri to take charge of the situation, while also instructing emergency agencies to provide proper medical care and support for victims.

Reaffirming his administration’s resolve, Tinubu stressed that there will be no safe haven for terrorists anywhere in Nigeria and that security forces will continue to track, confront, and defeat them.
