President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has renamed the Federal University of Health Sciences, Azare, Bauchi State, after the late Islamic Scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
The President announced this on Saturday during a condolence visit to the family of the revered Islamic scholar in Bauchi. He paid glowing tribute to the late cleric’s lifelong dedication to the service of God, humanity, and the Nigerian nation.
He described Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as a distinguished scholar, a moral compass for Nigeria, and a man whose teachings on honesty, integrity, and good character positively influenced generations across the country.
President Tinubu who arrived at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, at about 4:50 pm, was received on arrival by Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, ministers, and other top government officials present.Among the ministers on ground were the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, and the Minister of Health, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, who joined other dignitaries in welcoming the President.
Members of the presidential entourage included the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajuddeen Abbas, Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni among others.
