Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashim Shettima, visited victims of the recent explosions in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State, reaffirming the Federal Government’s determination to confront terrorism and hold those responsible accountable. The attacks left multiple casualties, with several injured currently receiving treatment.

At the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, Shettima assured victims and their families that the administration of Bola Tinubu remains steadfast in its mission to restore peace and security. He stressed that such acts of violence would not weaken the government’s resolve to defeat insurgency.

The Vice President, accompanied by senior officials including Deputy Governor Usman Kadafur and emergency management authorities, also conveyed condolences to bereaved families. He condemned the perpetrators, describing them as enemies of humanity, and reiterated that no religion supports the killing of innocent people.

Shettima further revealed that the government is increasing investment in military equipment and logistics to strengthen counter-terrorism operations. He noted that his visit was aimed at showing solidarity with the people of Borno State and reassuring them of the government’s continued support in the wake of the tragedy.
