Dr. Moses Paul, Action Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the AMAC chairmanship election, has publicly mourned the death of Musa Abubakar, a local election advocate in Gwagwa Ward, describing him as a man who stood firm for the integrity of votes.

In a heartfelt statement, Dr. Paul said he visited the family of Musa Abubakar alongside fellow party members, including Dcn. Ken Pela, Hon. Constance, and Mallam Ibrahim Abdulkarim, to offer condolences. He recounted the overwhelming grief he witnessed, describing the cries of Musa’s wife, the sorrow of his father, and the confusion of his young children, all mourning a man “whose only crime was courage.”

Dr. Paul condemned the attack that led to Musa’s death, alleging that thugs aligned with the All Progressives Congress (APC) were responsible. He stressed that Musa “did not carry a weapon, he carried conviction” and was committed to defending democracy and the integrity of local council elections. He called the killing “not politics, not rivalry, but murder,” warning that the incident highlights systemic failures in Nigeria’s electoral process.

Expressing solidarity with Musa’s family, Dr. Paul vowed that Musa’s sacrifice would not be forgotten or treated as collateral damage. He urged citizens and leaders to confront the culture of violence and impunity in the country’s political system, and called for genuine justice to prevail over political statements.

He concluded by praying for Musa’s family and appealing to Nigerians to continue defending electoral integrity, saying the tragedy “strengthens our commitment to justice and a Nigeria where no man dies for defending the truth.”
