Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has declared that the internal turmoil within the Labour Party has finally been settled, saying the party is now ready to focus on the 2027 elections.
The governor made the statement in a message shared through his official X account after members of the party’s National Working Committee presented him with a free nomination form at the Abia State Governor’s Lodge in Asokoro, Abuja.
The form was handed over by the party’s National Chairman, Nenadi Usman, during a meeting attended by key party officials.
Reacting to the gesture, Otti praised the current leadership of the party for navigating the organisation through months of internal disagreements and legal disputes.
He noted that the crisis which once threatened the stability and future of the party had now been brought under control through the efforts of the leadership.
According to him, the Labour Party has successfully cleared all legal hurdles and is no longer facing any court cases capable of disrupting its activities ahead of the next electoral cycle.
Otti expressed confidence that the party can now concentrate fully on strengthening its structures and preparing for future political contests across the country.
The governor also thanked members of the National Working Committee, including National Secretary Obioma Iheanacho, for what he described as a significant show of confidence in his leadership.
He assured party members that he would remain committed to the ideals and progress of the Labour Party, promising to continue supporting its growth at all levels.
Otti further stated that he would not take the recognition for granted and pledged to justify the confidence reposed in him by the party leadership.
The governor dedicated the honour to the people of Abia State, saying their support and encouragement continue to inspire his administration’s approach to governance and public service.
