A criminal syndicate terrorizing Bauchi metropolis has been neutralized by the Bauchi State Police Command with 23 suspects arrested, Njenje Media News reports.
The Command Spokesperson, DSP Mohammed Wakil, on Friday said the suspects were arrested by police operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), on Wednesday, January 27, at about 3pm following an intelligence report.
In his words;
“Operatives coordinated by the RRS Commander raided criminal hideout and black spots in Bauchi metropolis which resulted to the arrest of twenty three (23) suspects notorious for terrorizing Kofar wambai, Abujan Kwata and other vulnerable places within the city,”
“Prior to their arrest, they have been engaged in perpetrating heinous crimes against the peace loving people of Bauchi State and their acts include aggravated form of theft that involves the use of lethal weapons to perpetrate violence against victims and deprive them of valuables which include but not limited to mobile phones and cash. Sometimes, they brutally stab their victims, leaving them in a pool of blood that may lead to further unfortunate situations including possible loss of lives,” said Wakil.
These apprehended suspects are, Ahmed Bala 18yrs of Kofar Gombe, Abdul-shakur Kabiru 17yrs of Abujan Kwata, Bello Ibrahim 25yrs of Nasarawan Dawaki, Jamilu Iliya 15yrs of Abujan Kwata, Kabiru Adamu 30yrs of Abujan Kwata, Dalhatu Bala 19yrs of Kofar Gombe, Hamza Bala 30yrs of Kofar Gombe, Fahat Mohammed 24yrs of Abujan Kwata, Hamisu Abubakar 50yrs of Old Airport Road, and Lawal Jibrin 22yrs of Abujan Kwata.
Other suspects are; Abubakar Mohammed 27yrs of Nasarawan Dawaki, Usman Mohammed 18yrs of Nasarawan Dawaki, Mustapha Abdullahi 22yrs of Abujan Kwata, Rufai Auwal 22yrs of Abujan Kwata, Sani Mohammed 19yrs of Abujan Kwata, Aminu Mu’azu 17yrs of Dawaki Road, Salihu Ibrahim 20yrs of Kofar Gombe, Zaharaddeen Abdulsalam 20yrs of Kofar Gombe, Ishan Sani 25yrs of Karofi, Isiyaka Mustapha 20yrs of Abujan Kwata, Ahmadu Isiyaka 18yrs of Abujan Kwata, Adamu Mamman 16yrs of Kofar Gombe, and Salisu Muhammad 20yrs of Kofar Gombe.
Exhibits recovered from the suspects included 5 machetes, 5 sticks, 7 knives, one saw, 3 hair clippers, 3-angle Spanner, one chisel, a plier, one hammer and a cash sum of ninty one thousand three hundred and fourty (91,340) naira.
