The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has delivered judgment in the Osun Governorship election tussle before it.

The Election Petition Tribunale had sacked Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke and declared former Governor Oyetola as the winner of the polls.

Governor Ademola Adeleke, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had approached the Appellate Court to overturn the January 27 judgment of the Election Petition Tribunal that sacked Adeleke.

Former Governor Gboyega Oyetola through his lawyers filed a cross-appeal, arguing that the Tribunal erred in its conclusion that Governor Adeleke was qualified to contest in the election.

The Appeal Court in its final verdict has set aside the Tribunal judgment of 27th January and affirmed the judgment of Gov. Ademola Adeleke.
