Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Senator Basheer Mohammed as the new Director-General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Njenje Media News reports.
Presidential spokesman, Garba Shehu announced the new appointment in a statement on Thursday.
According to Shehu, the President also approved some key changes under the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.
The Presidential spokesperson said the action was taken in order to realize and sustain the government’s abiding desire for effective and efficient service delivery in the two organizations.
The statement said Mrs. Imaan Suleiman Ibrahim who was until now the Director-General of NAPTIP will now take over from Mohammed as the Honourable Federal Commissioner for the National Commission for Refugees, Migrants and Internally Displaced Persons (NCFRMI).
Shehu added that the President further directed that the changes should be effected after comprehensive handover notes to successors.
