The Delta State Election Tribunal has sacked the Honourable representing Aniocha/Oshimili Federal Constituency in Delta State, Ngozi Okolie, and declared Hon. Ndudi Elumelu as the duly elected Representative from the area.
The Tribunal ruled that Ngozi Okolie was not duly sponsored by the Labour Party as she was not a member of the LP as at May 28, 2022 when the primary was held.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared Okolie the winner of the poll after securing 53,879 votes to defeat his closest challenger Elumelu, who garnered 33,466 votes.
Elumelu, was the immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives.
Ngozi Okolie is expected to appeal the judgement.
