In response to a recently circulated video that has caused widespread concern, Edo Community Vienna has issued a public disclaimer distancing itself from the incendiary statements made by one of its members, Mr. Kingsley Ugiagbe. The video, which has sparked significant attention, suggested a conflict between the Edo Community and Igbo Communities, a claim the leadership of Edo Community Vienna has emphatically refuted.
In the official statement, Edo Community Vienna confirmed that Mr. Kingsley Ugiagbe is a recognized member of their organization but stressed that his views, as expressed in the video, are solely his own. “These statements do not represent the views of Edo Community Vienna or the broader Edo community,” the statement clarified.
The community’s leadership emphasized the seriousness with which they approach issues such as threats to life, stating that such matters are treated with the utmost gravity. The statement further highlighted the longstanding and positive relationship between the Edo and Igbo communities, noting that they have shared bonds of “mutual love, respect, and unity” for many years.
In a decisive move, the leadership has indefinitely suspended Mr. Ugiagbe from all activities related to Edo Community Vienna, including their anniversary celebration scheduled for Saturday, August 31, 2024. The suspension will remain in place until the issue is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
Edo Community Vienna has assured the public that discussions are ongoing with the Igbo community to address and resolve the situation amicably. They urged all individuals and groups to disregard Mr. Ugiagbe’s statements and to continue their engagements with both Edo Community Vienna and the larger Edo community without concern.
The statement concluded with a call for unity, reaffirming the community’s commitment to peace, love, and cooperation among all ethnic groups.
