Adeniyi Demands Independent Probe, Accuses Gbajabiamila of Concealing Facts Over Alleged Presidential Agencies

Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi Matthew has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to establish an independent investigative panel to probe the controversy surrounding the alleged Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and Presidential Economic Advisory Council (PEAC), insisting that the matter should be resolved through a transparent investigation rather than public denials.

Addressing a press conference, Adeniyi rejected allegations against him and challenged the disclaimer issued by the Chief of Staff to the President, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, distancing the Presidency from the two councils.

“I reject outright any attempt to reduce this matter to simple denials without addressing the core questions that Nigerians are now asking. The issue is no longer about personalities. It is about contradictions that demand answers,” he said.

Adeniyi argued that if the agencies did not exist, as claimed by the Chief of Staff, questions should be answered over their alleged inclusion in the 2026 Appropriation Act.

“Then how did the agency’s name get into the 2026 appropriation budget pages 50 and 51? If the agency does not exist, yet found its way into the Nigerian national budget, what that means is that the entire 2026 appropriation budget is a fraud and should be discarded,” he stated.

He further questioned the administrative process that allegedly allowed the agencies to appear in official records, saying, “The question becomes unavoidable: at what point in this process did references to non existent Agency allegedly enter the official record?”

Adeniyi also claimed the agencies maintained accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria and questioned how such accounts could have been opened if the institutions were fictitious.

“The same acclaimed non existent Agency has domiciliary account, pounds account and Treasury Single Account all domiciled in Central Bank of Nigeria,” he alleged.

He denied accusations that he fraudulently presented himself as a government official, describing the allegations as damaging to his reputation.

“I am also compelled to address the attempt by the chief of staff to frame me as a fraudulent actor in this matter. That portrayal is not only false but deeply damaging to my person and reputation,” he said.

Adeniyi further alleged that his disagreement with the Chief of Staff stemmed from an alleged request for a share of the agency’s take off grant, an allegation for which he did not provide supporting evidence.

“Now I want to put this out for clarity’s sake: the major rationale behind the disagreement between myself and the Chief of Staff is because he allegedly requested 48% of the take off grant… to which I rejected,” he claimed.

Calling for an independent investigation, Adeniyi urged President Tinubu to constitute a panel to examine the controversy, review official documents and budgetary records, investigate the death of an intermediary he identified as Babatunde Tanimola, and probe alleged attempts on his life.

“The purpose is clarity: not denial versus counter denial. If I am wrong, let an independent process prove it. If Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila is right, let it confirm it,” he said.

He concluded by pledging to cooperate with any lawful investigation, stating, “I remain willing to cooperate fully with any lawful inquiry. I will not accept being silenced or discredited. Let the investigation speak. Let the documents speak. Let the truth emerge.”

The allegations made by Adeniyi have not been independently verified. The Presidency has previously denied the existence of the councils and has accused him of forging documents and impersonating a government official. Criminal charges relating to those allegations are currently before the court, while Adeniyi has maintained his innocence.
