Gbajabiamila upgrades Surulere clinic to general hospital

The Lagos State Government has lauded the Chief of Staff to the President, Mr Femi Gbajabiamila for facilitating the upgrade and reconstruction of the Femi Gbajabiamila Clinic in Surulere to an ultramodern, multi-floor 60-bed General Hospital.
The hospital, which was equipped with advanced specialist care facilities, is located on Iyun Road, Surulere, Lagos.
Speaking on Sunday after an inspection tour of the hospital, which is scheduled to be unveiled soon, the Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, expressed satisfaction with the architectural design as well as the fit-for-purpose model created by the project manager.
He was optimistic that the facility would contribute positively to the health sector and well-being of Lagos residents.
According to him, adding 60 beds to the public health facility amid the critical shortage of bed space in Lagos, was significant.
The commissioner also noted that the hospital’s state-of-the-art features including radiology, a large laboratory, paediatric, physiotherapy, surgical, and X-ray facilities will substantially enhance the well-being of the constituency’s residents.
While further commending the quality of construction, he said the facility would be integrated into the Lagos roster of general hospitals.
“We are anticipating a positive reception from both the Governor of Lagos State, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, regarding this significant addition to public health facilities,” he added.
While appreciating Gbajabiamila for the facility, Abayomi acknowledged his “immense contribution and foresight in facilitating the establishment of this hospital.”
He gave an assurance that the facility would be optimally utilised for the benefit of all residents of Lagos.
