People’s Right Organisation (PRO), a Kaduna State-based group has written a letter to Facebook’s parent company, Meta, asking it to stop a former aide to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reno Omokri, from using the platform to incite violence and instigate ethnic hatred in Nigeria.
Njenje Media News reports that the group in a letter to Facebook headquarters said taking down Omokri’s page would be of great advantage to Nigerians.
Omokri drew the ire of some sections of Nigerians for making posts they deemed capable of inciting other Nigerians against an ethnic group.
