Over the past few weeks we’ve noticed a high increase in the number of the government officials, speaking largely with tongues in cheek, doing some low job of defending the present failures of the government and their non-state affiliates and associated interest groups. But the one that hits hardest is the brazen outbursts of Mallam Malami, on behalf of his paid masters, the Miyetti Allah, though he was supposed to be a neutral government employee.
He was a nobody. He is still a nobody. A man imposed upon the nation, by fiat through a deficiency of norms and an insidious failures of character.
He is said to be the Attorney General, whom I think, is in dire need of an attorney to help him understand his deficient manners and intellect and his obvious breach of his appointment. Ironically, I think he needed some dose of the limelight which he craved, considering how he raved and screamed on TV, a gadget, going by his own false style, he must have bought from an Igbo Trader; having been born, bred and existed, up till his selection, in the dark caves of primitivism. He got it.
Now the why?
In a country that has been forced to its knees by a bunch of erratic and incompetent clique, Mallam Mallami is of the lower rung and trait. Most of his professional life, he has squared with those below him, impressing them, and since they form the bulk of the noisemakers and distractors, succeeded in making him overestimate himself. I quickly add here that it is grossly erroneous to call or consider Mallam Malami as Nigeria’s Attorney General, HE IS THE HATCHET-MAN, SPOKESMAN AND ADVOCATE OF THE MIYETTI ALLAH. From this prism we should consider and understand him.
By opening his mouth to speak about and against Ndigbo, their essence and approach, knowing nothing about them, lumping them together with his happy go Cows, he exposed the ignorance of his mind and the emptiness of his heart. Nigeria just got a little bit more knowledge of whom they’ve saddled with enforcing its laws. NO WONDER WE LIVE IN SUCH LAWLESS STATE!
And how sad we’ve all come to understand that our laws has been made worse by a man who is both lawless and incompetent. The only thing keeping him still in government, is a loyalty to a debased clique that refuses to hear the loud cry of its citizens.
The regional security map, if Malami knew anything at all about it, would have shown him that his cow-toting and illiterate herdsmen and their destructive cows, are the problems with the country today. They are ever changing into several Hydra like heads. And how could he, if he had any understanding, not see what damages they have done to the North East and North West and through his negligence, this too are been exported to the rest of the country.
The country applauded the United front shown by the Southern Governors forum for their brave stand on Open Grazing. We appeal to them to go beyond the black ink on white paper and enforce it. If the good of the country and its legal progress are Malami goals, he would have seen the wisdom in that regard. Why must we, pretending to live in the 21st century, be overrun by 12th century primitive cavemen, with no morals and values?
The Governors he took to the air to insult and harass, are the First Citizens of their States. Elected and thus full representatives of their peoples. I wonder what music Malami was listening to by the side of the road that so emboldened him, an appointee, to act so callously. The tick is that Malami and his cohorts are the real problems of this country.
Malam Malami, please it is not illegal to owe or Trade in any ware. But it is illegal if your enterprise infringes on the rights of any citizen, irrespective of his clan, race or religion, to exercise those same rights. The Motor Part entrepreneurs of the South East, add value to the communities where they live and do business. They pay rent. Pay taxes. Employ the people and fulfil many other tangible needs of the societies where they live. They have never been reported to be where their wares are not needed or their business infringe against others from exercising their rights. Above all there are still basic human rights laws in Nigeria that protects them unlike your cows.
So Sir, I find it quite amusing that your speech writers and handlers didn’t educate you on the wide gap existing between them and the gun carrying and very dangerous cow herders. They pay no tax. Add no value to the places where they’ve been known to parade. They destroy farms, thus ruining the life-source of the local citizens. They make no meaningful investments outside parasitically reaping where they did not sow.
The arguments you propounded smacked of the worst kind of debilitating ignorance. It had neither reason nor empathy. We pay you monthly to maintain law and order. Yet under your watch, Nigeria had drifted to becoming the most lawless country in the West African subregion. And rather than being the Attorney General, you have consistently shown that you are the Attorney of the Miyetti Allah. Please how much Tax do the cattle rearers and their Miyetti owners pay across the Southern States where they make most of their Illegal monies?
The government you serve has broken one law after another. Driven us almost to extinction as a nation. Paid lip service to law and order, and simply acted out their ingrained impunity. Yet you have not brought them to the attention of the country as you did against the rightful and legal decisions of the Chief Security officers of the Southern States. He that goes to equity must do so with a clean hand or conscience. Have you Sir?
Enough about your attitude and actions.
This country cannot continue to play this game of you against me. They, against us. It is really time to clean up the Augean stable that has become Nigeria. The likes of you are not interested in Nigeria; your allegiance is to the Miyetti Allah, and its goals and objectives are at variance with civilised norms and values. You have done us a great disservice with your recent vituperations and you should please take a leave. We just can’t continue to have you continue messing up an already polluted polity.
Nigeria needs a breath of fresh air. And Malam Malami is certainly not one or even a tiny aroma in that. We suffer the most if this country continues unchecked in this direction.
The Igbo Motor parts entrepreneurs are worth more than you and your cows and have both human and spiritual values. To them we must give kudos for opening up the various nooks and crannies of this country. If you are ever on wheels: two wheels, four wheels, six or more wheels, then you should celebrate these Intrepid men as trailblazers. Without them this nation would have been on Standstill!
Mallam Malami, rather than compare them with your cows, you may want to humble yourself and learn something from them: THEY ARE THE REAL NIGERIANS!
