Renowned gospel music ministry MrM & Revelation will be honoured with the Music Icon of the Year award at this year’s Anambra Man of the Year Awards scheduled for July.

Organisers said the Music Icon of the Year recognition is in appreciation of MrM & Revelation’s outstanding contributions to gospel music, their dedication to promoting peace, love and unity, and their efforts in taking African gospel music to audiences across Africa and beyond.

The award celebrates the remarkable journey of the gospel group, which has evolved from a modest music collective led by Mr Miracle, popularly known as MrM, into one of Africa’s leading gospel ensembles. Through their music, the ministry has continued to inspire faith, foster unity, and encourage positive social change.

Established with the vision of drawing people closer to Christ while influencing culture through worship, MrM & Revelation has grown into a household name within the African gospel music scene.

Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut album, Focus, which featured the widely acclaimed song Jesus Bu Onyem Ne Fe. The project introduced the group to a broader audience and laid the foundation for its growing influence.

Led by MrM, an Industrial Physics graduate of Ebonyi State University, the ministry has composed and released more than 100 songs, including Nisi’m, Akoro, Operempe, Odogwu Wonder, Until I See, At Your Feet, Not Ojoro, and Ekele, among several other well-received worship songs.

Over the years, the group has ministered on some of Africa’s biggest gospel stages, including The Experience, while also collaborating with notable gospel artistes such as Nathaniel Bassey, Mercy Chinwo, Peterson Okopi, Jimmy D Psalmist, and Judikay.

The event attracts more than 30 gospel ministers and thousands of worshippers for an extended atmosphere of praise and worship.
