The endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) by Senator Adenigba Fadahunsi is more than usual. It is like “maa jo lo mo nwo eyin re”, as far as Osun is concerned!
PBAT should therefore be rest assured Osun is secured!
Fadahunsi won in 2015 (though INEC did wonders). The world knew he won that election!
In 2019, he won again and that could not be tampered with for the mastery that himself and his team had gained from their previous experience on the dynamics of votes protection from the polling units to the collation centre!
From 2019 to 2023, Fada, as he is fondly called by his supporters was the only Senator on the platform of PDP from Osun at the National Assembly!
His unprecedented performance earned Osun PDP the Guber victory in 2022 and by 2023 total victory at the general elections!
The last Presidential election in Osun State in 2023, was unbelievably a clean sweep for PDP owing to the strength of grassroots politicians who held the tickets of the party for the Senate and house of Representatives!
With a 3/3 score for the Senate and 9/9 for House of Representatives in the state that houses the ancestral home of the candidate of the APC was a political slap!
Thus, losing both his ancestral state and his adopted state, Lagos!
Losing Lagos to Peter Obi of the Labour Party and Osun to Atiku Abubakar of the PDP wasn’t a good showcasing!
With a 20 Local Government Areas win for Atiku and 10 for Tinubu, the low votes for Obi in Osun was completely out of the order of pattern witnessed across the South West!
Tinubu seems to be having a reprieve looking forward to 2027 as the 3 Senators from Osun are backing his re-election in Osun State!

This is unambiguously clear as Osun State Senators’ (PDP) Caucus Unanimously Endorses President Tinubu for 2027!
The Osun State Senators’ Caucus of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has unequivocally endorsed President Bola Tinubu as its sole and legitimate presidential candidate for the 2027 General Elections.
In a joint press statement signed by Senator Kamarudeen Lere Oyewumi (Osun West); Senator Olubiyi Fadeyi Ajagunla (Osun Central); and Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, OFR (Osun East), the Senators affirmed their unwavering support for President Tinubu’s continued leadership!
During a strategic meeting held on Tuesday, the Senators unanimously declared their endorsement of President and Commander-in-Chief of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for a second term in office come 2027!
They lauded the President’s transformative infrastructure projects and sound economic policies, which have already begun to yield tangible benefits—most notably the significant reduction in food prices and marked improvements in national security!
The Senators underscored their pride in representing a constituency that stands firmly behind President Tinubu’s visionary leadership!
They called on the President to sustain his relentless drive towards delivering even greater achievements for Nigeria’s future.
“This overwhelming endorsement goes beyond mere symbolism; it is a clear reflection of genuine confidence and satisfaction with President Tinubu’s delivery of democratic dividends. There is no credible opposition within our ranks—the entire Osun block stands resolutely united behind this historic decision,” the statement declared!
This sagacious political expression has pointed the way forward that the country is matured for Independent Candidacy.
This should spur the needed actions towards the review of our electoral laws, to free up votes of party loyalists across party divides for Presidential candidate of their choice, be it independent candidates!
Such a decision will douse the tension associated with the unreasonable deflection that reduces men to zombies in Delta State!
How do you convince anyone that a whole state’s structure without leaving a single soul behind defected to the party in power?
These are what’s fanning the allegation of Mr President’s drive for a one party state!
A multi-tribal, multi-party and multi-religious country like ours should make room for phenomenal candidates whose popularity transcend party and other social demarcations.
This will help curb thuggery, electoral and security institutions’ corruption during elections!
