Peter Obi has stated that he cannot guarantee securing the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that his focus remains on pursuing a broader political objective.
In a message shared with supporters, Obi acknowledged the uncertainty surrounding party decisions, noting that while he is actively working toward the ticket, there are no assurances. He emphasized that commitment to the cause matters more than personal ambition, even as questions linger about internal dynamics and future alliances.
The former presidential candidate also reaffirmed his determination to remain politically active across Nigeria, saying he is not deterred by reported threats and is prepared to campaign nationwide. He praised his supporters for their loyalty, highlighting the challenges of opposition politics and appreciating those who continue to stand by him despite limited immediate rewards.
Obi, however, expressed concern about the unpredictability of political partnerships, questioning whether current allies would remain committed in the long run, while maintaining that he remains focused on his goals regardless of the uncertainties ahead.
