Plenary Turns Rowdy As Senate Withdraws INEC’s Right To Determine How Elections Are Transmitted

Senate approves conference committee report on Petroleum Industry Bill

The Senate has withdrawn the rights of  the independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to solely determine how election results are transmitted.

The lawmakers said the system must be adjudged adequate and secure by the Nigerian Communications Commission or approved by the National Assembly’.

Meanwhile, the Senate is now in a closed door session following the rowdy response that greeted the removal of INEC as only  determinant of means of transmitting election results.
