*Keynote Address: Prophet Isa El-Buba
Save Nigeria Group USA Event at the sidelines of IRFSummit 2026.*
Nigeria World Press Conference | Washington Hilton, D.C.
February 3, 2026
Introduction
Stephen Osemwegie President of Save Nigeria Group USA introduced the Keynote Speaker:
I have the singular honor to introduce my father Prophet Isa Elbuba, He and Dr. Paul Enenche has remained a strong voice for the persecuted Church in Nigeria. I thank God for who they are. Some people ask, “What are you doing fighting for Nigeria in America ? You could have done something else.” I say no—there are people in Nigeria who are speaking. How can I be here in the U.S. and not speak? So Sir, we are very grateful to you, and we want to thank you for your voice.
We would like for you to share with the United States audience and the media gathered here: what is going on in Nigeria, and what is Nigeria asking from the United States?
(Introduction by Moderator Victor Onyeka Ben – Media Director of Save Nigeria Group USA):
“Before the great Prophet starts speaking, let me add that he is also a Fulani man. A lot of people are not aware of that fact. He is a Fulani man that God is using to expose the lies that the government of Nigeria is busy with. They threaten and drive him on a daily basis, claiming that nothing is going on, yet it is ongoing as we speak. Thank you very much.”
*The Reality on the Ground*
Is it afternoon or evening now? I think it should be evening. I want to appreciate and celebrate each one of you for your sacrifice in being here. I want to appreciate the organizer, Mr. Steven of the Save Nigeria Group, and also Dr. Chris, who monitored everything and kept me informed. I thank God for the respected leaders gathered here at the Hilton in Washington, D.C.
I am speaking specifically to Nigerians in the diaspora. Nobody wins a war for their homeland from the outside alone. Victory requires internal collaboration and one united voice abroad.
I want to celebrate and appreciate the President of the United States of America for hearkening to the voice and the cry of the Nigerian people. What you have done—simply speaking on behalf of the persecuted, the killed, and the murdered communities—has accomplished more than what has happened in over 20 years. We commend the action of the United States and all those who have pulled their energies together.
Genocide has been ongoing for all these years, but right now I can testify that we are beginning to see a change in the attitude and behavior of both the government of Nigeria and the terrorists. We are gathered here not because Nigeria is weak, but because Nigeria is bleeding.
What began as the persecution of Christian communities has spilled over into the killing of moderate Muslims, particularly the Hausas, and the destruction of entire civilizations. The perpetrators are clear: they are the Fulani Killer Herdsmen, and the extremist and Jihadist networks that have joined forces to fight the church and go after anyone who calls upon the name of the Lord, especially in Northern Nigeria.
*Personal Witness to the Tragedy*
I have participated in the funerals of several thousand Christians massacred overnight. In one place, Dogonahawa, over 500 Christians were killed in a single night. In a community I helped rebuild called Takwa in Plateau State, over 210 people were massacred in one night. This was not because of their skin color or cultural background, but because they are called by the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
The mission is to wipe out Christians from Northern Nigeria and the Middle Belt. People have paid a premium price, laying down their lives in defense of their faith and their communities. For years, the international community turned a blind eye to this suffering. The Nigerian government has, at times, connived with international actors to ensure the agenda of Islamization and the wiping away of the Christian community takes place.
Because of this, the government has done everything in its power to silence some of us. I have survived over nine assassination attempts. I have been fired upon with several bullets, but the mercy and grace of God has kept me. Under the Buhari administration, the government sent for my arrest. My entire structure was besieged by Nigerian forces. All the security detail provided to me by the past administration of Goodluck Jonathan were withdrawn by the military, the police, and the DSS.
But God, in His sovereign power, has preserved me and several others who are standing tall in defense of the innocent whose bodies are now under the ground. We are the voice of the voiceless. No diamond, silver, or gold can ever change this conviction until this genocide stops—and it must stop.
*A Call to Action for the Diaspora*
The truth is that, based on the United Nations Charter and the definition of genocide, we have seen genocide practically applied in Northern Nigeria. As of today, my ministry and I have personally rebuilt over 100 churches and over 120 housing units for displaced and destroyed communities. We are not retreating until a “New Nigeria” is born.
I believe that having Donald Trump in office during this period provides a partner for Nigeria. America needs Nigeria as a great ally. Today, I have a practical charge for the Nigerian diaspora:
1. Speak with One Political Voice: Disunity is our enemy. You must coordinate advocacy and engage lawmakers consistently. Stop fragmenting our message along ethnic or denominational lines. When they come after Christians, they don’t ask if you are Catholic, Anglican, or Protestant; they come after anyone called by the name of the Lord.
2. Internal Reform: No external pressure works without internal reform. Support critical political platforms, clean up party structures, and invest in leadership development.
3. Mobilize Economic Power Strategically: Billions flow from the diaspora to Nigeria yearly. It is time to pull these resources transparently. Fund data initiatives and support reconstruction, not just consumption.
4. Win the Media War: Silence is strategic defeat. We must fund investigative journalism and support digital advocacy to challenge false narratives in real-time.
5. Resettlement as Resistance: Displacement must not become erasure. We must rebuild villages and restore ancestral lands. Right now, I am overseeing the reconstruction of over 60 communities. Resettlement is resistance.
6. Economic Empowerment: Aid without empowerment creates dependency. We must support skills training and micro-enterprises to restore livelihoods.
*A Warning Against Corruption*
We must create a transparent structure to defeat corruption. Recently, I was told the Nigerian government came to America to spend $9 million on lobbyists to change the narrative and claim there is no genocide. That money is enough to settle all the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs).
I see some in the diaspora aligning with falsehoods. It is time to be a transparent people. Let us not be saints in the morning and devils at night. We must be people of conviction, not convenience. Corruption has even infiltrated humanitarian efforts. We must not use the blood of martyrs to fund darkness.
*Final Charge*
Nigeria matters to the United States, to Africa, and to the global church. This is the moment for courage. History will ask what we did when our people were being erased from the face of the earth. May our answer be: “We stood, we spoke, we rebelled, and we prevailed.”
To the government agents moving around the world: you can never change the narrative. Nigeria will consume the wicked, but the nation will stay on.
To the President of the United States: we celebrate you in Northern Nigeria. You are God-sent. Your statement that this massacre of Christians must stop was more than enough. Thank you for refusing to be “politically correct” and for standing for the hope of Nigeria.
God bless Nigeria, and God bless the United States of America.
Prophet Isa El-Buba.
