Please note that this Message is not for Parents who are too scared to fight for a better future for their children because it may impact negatively on them, and, young people who have given up on taking a stand for a better Nigeria that will work for them.
There are many Nigerians who have given up on what they see and feel is a very dysfunctional country, but the good news is that there are still a greater number of Nigerians who have hope that Nigeria someday will be a country that works for all, but are at a loss on how to make a Nigeria that works for all a reality. This Message is for them.
*HOW MILLIONS OF ORDINARY PATRIOTIC NIGERIANS WHO STILL BELIEVE IN THE NIGERIAN DREAM CAN RESET THE PRESENT NIGERIAN DYSFUNCTIONAL SYSTEM PEACEFULLY THROUGH A PEOPLES CONSTITUTION.*
The present Nigerian situation is really desperate, although in recent times there appears to be very slight improvement in some areas. Corrosive Corruption at all Levels, Insecurity in most parts of the country, High incidence of Poverty, and Unemployment, is still the norm in present day Nigeria. It has not always been like this. Excluding the false prosperous blips of the oil boom periods, most objective observers of Nigeria are of the view that the country’s golden era of development was during the pre military coup era of 1960 to 1966 when it practiced True Federalism and a Parliamentary system of Government.
In the preceding write up, the Key Pillars for a Constitution that most Nigerians desire and believe will *RESET* the country’s political system and make for *A NIGERIA THAT WORKS FOR ALL* was detailed. It is now time to *FOCUS* on how to achieve the desired outcome.
The Winning Strategy for Patriotic Nigerians who want to *RESET NIGERIA* is to stay very focused on the *NATIONAL ASSEMBLY and STATE ASSEMBLIES ELECTIONS in 2027* and *TOTALLY AVOID the distractions of the Presidential and Gubernatorial Elections* that usually divides Nigerians during Elections. *The Presidential and Gubernatorial Elections MUST be left alone for the partisan politicians to contest*.( See Fig 1 ). Making of a Constitution is the Responsibility of the National and State LEGISLATURE and not the EXECUTIVE. We the People must accept the fact that the current Nigerian Constitution is good for the Politicians and Bad for the People, and is the major cause of our deepening endemic corruption and bad leadership selection. Consequently, Nigerians *MUST UNITE* to give themselves an *AGREED CONSTITUTION THAT WORKS FOR ALL* through taking effective control of the National Assembly and all the State Assemblies.
The mistake that the long suffering people of Nigeria have been making all these years is to expect Politicians that they didn’t *SEND* to the National Assembly and State Assemblies to make good laws and *CONSTITUTION* for the people, as opposed to their personal interests. The simple truth is that most of these politicians although “elected” were *NOT SENT* by the Electorate, rather they bought their positions using their personal resources and or through the support of godfathers, and rightly should not be accountable to the people. Also partisan politicians are not well suited to give a country a Peoples Constitution. The Constitution of United States of America that Nigeria is imitating was made by the “Founding Fathers of America” and not the American Democrats and Republicans.
*The GAME CHANGER is that now, WE THE PEOPLE OF NIGERIA for the first time will be UNITED in SENDING our STATESMEN and STATESWOMEN, and NOT PARTISAN POLITICIANS to the NATIONAL ASSEMBLY and STATE ASSEMBLIES whose KEY MANDATE is to make laws to RESET NIGERIA. The basic and most important of these laws is the CONSTITUTION as prepared on behalf of the Peoples of Nigeria at the National Summit on the Future of Nigeria’s Constitutional Democracy initiated by The Patriots, in collaboration with Nigerian Political Summit Group(NPSG).*

In our subsequent discourses, we will be focusing on specific issues such as (i) The Formation, Composition and Duration of the Vehicle that will be used by the *PEOPLE* to contest the elections for the National Assembly and State Assemblies in 2027 (ii) Suggested Key Criteria for Statesmen and Stateswomen that will be sent by the *PEOPLE* to the National Assembly and State Assemblies in 2027 to produce a Peoples Constitution for Nigeria.(iii) Mobilization of Nigerians for a New Constitution.
