Dear,
Shuhdah Ahmed,
Special Assistant Project Support,
Office of The Vice President,
Aliyu Bunu Sheriff,
and the entire Dar Al Halal Nigeria Limited Team,
Please accept my sincere appreciation for your thoughtful communication regarding the rescheduling of the Nigeria National Halal Economy Strategy launch.
First, I wish to deeply acknowledge and appreciate the Fathers of our Faith who reached out with words of caution and counsel. Their guidance embodies the spirit of national balance and spiritual maturity that our country desperately needs.
My profound gratitude also goes to His Lordship, Bishop Matthew Hassan Kukah, whose timely intervention reflected the heart of a true patriot and peacemaker. His efforts prompted the kind attention of His Excellency, the Vice President, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, GCON, who personally rose to calm frayed nerves and encourage mutual understanding among all concerned.
To the organisers, I acknowledge your good intentions and commend your decision to pause and review. Going forward, as the concept evolves in its private capacity, I encourage deeper consultation with relevant faith and civic communities. This will ensure shared understanding and collective ownership — within the framework of our constitutional secularism — to advance prosperity for all Nigerians: Christians, Muslims, and Traditionalists alike, without ethnic or religious prejudice.
Our unity as a nation rests on mutual respect and balanced policy. Therefore, let us see this moment not as a setback, but as an opportunity to strengthen the bridges of trust across faiths, cultures, and convictions.
To a better and greater Nigeria for all, we reaffirm our commitment.
With respect and goodwill,
His Steward and Yours,
Citizen Bolaji O. Akinyemi
