Activist Mahdi Shehu has reportedly been detained again by individuals believed to be affiliated with the Department of State Services (DSS), Njenje Media reports.
Shehu was arrested by plainclothes operatives at his clinic in Unguwar Dosa around 11:00 a.m.
As of now, no official statement has been issued by security agencies regarding the circumstances of the arrest of the Kaduna-based activist and political commentator.
Mahdi’s son, Buhari Mahdi, has stated that the family has been unable to contact his father since the incident. This follows a previous arrest in December 2024, when Mahdi faced charges for sharing a misleading video on social media. He was granted bail by the Kaduna State High Court on January 9, 2025, with conditions including a bail amount of ₦3 million and the requirement of two prominent clerics as sureties.
