*CHAIRMAN,BOT,SESSPN PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO THE FAMILY OF CHIEF EDWIN KIAGBODO CLARK,OFR,CON:*
On Monday, 24th February, 2025, Chairman, Board of Trustees, South East-South South Professionals of Nigeria(SESSPN), *Mr. Emeka Ugwu-Oju*, in the company of *Mr. George Obiamalu*, a member of SESSPN, visited the Abuja Residence of *Chief E. K. Clark*, Elder Statesman, Ijaw National Leader, and Convener of *Pan Niger Delta Forum(PANDEF)*,who died on *17th February,2025.* to pay a Condolence Visit to his Family.
After introductions, we were formally welcomed on behalf of the Chief E. K. Clark Family by his oldest son present, and on behalf of PANDEF, by the Chairman of PANDEF, *Ambassador Godknows Boladei Igali,OON*. One of the persons in attendance during our visit was *Chief Ayakeme Whiskey*, a member of both PANDEF and SESSPN. It was during the visit that I learnt about the unfortunate passing to the great beyond of another Elder Statesman,*Prof Eric Agume Opia*. It turned out that Mr. Ibrahim Clark, one of the sons of Chief E.K. Clark,who is resident in the United Kingdom, and was present when we visited is married to the daughter of Prof Opia and his wife, *Ruth Benemaisia-Opia*. Late Prof Eric Agume Opia was the Chairman of my Wedding Reception in 1988. May his kind and gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
Pa E. K. Clark was a true Nigerian Patriot and a very dogged fighter for Equity and Justice. His fight for a *New and Better Nigeria* is now left in the hands of those alive who believe in the ideals he stood for. May Pa E. K. Clark rest in perfect peace.
