Former Kaduna Central senator Shehu Sani has stirred debate after suggesting that the wave of support for Peter Obi is largely influenced by ethnic loyalty rather than genuine political transformation, while expressing confidence that Bola Tinubu will emerge victorious in the 2027 elections.

Speaking on “The Honest Bunch Podcast” alongside activist Deji Adeyanju, Sani argued that Nigeria’s political space is dominated by leaders who share similar ideologies, regardless of party lines. He maintained that figures such as Olusegun Obasanjo and Atiku Abubakar operate within the same framework as Obi and Tinubu.

According to him, public narratives often exaggerate differences between candidates, when in reality, the gap is not as wide as portrayed. He ultimately projected that Tinubu remains best positioned for re-election, framing Nigeria’s political choices as difficult distinctions between familiar alternatives.
