Tinubu Nominates New Ministers Of Youth, Awaits Confirmation

President Bola Tinubu has approved the nomination of Jamila Bio Ibrahim and Ayodele Olawande to serve as the Minister and Minister of State for Youth, respectively, pending their confirmation by the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, NjenjeMediaNews reports.

Jamila Bio Ibrahim is a young medical doctor who most recently served as the President of the Progressive Young Women Forum. She has also served as the Senior Special Assistant to the Kwara State Governor on Sustainable Development Goals.

Ayodele Olawande on the other hand, is a community development expert and youth leader in the governing All Progressives’ Congress. He has most recently served in the Office of the Special Adviser to the President on Innovation from 2019 to 2023.

The two nominees were selected based on their impressive credentials and commitment to the development of the country’s youth sector. President Tinubu has expressed confidence in their ability to lead the youth sector in the right direction.

President Tinubu has urged the new nominees to ensure that they consistently reflect the dynamism, zeal, and productivity that are synonymous with the young people of Nigeria as they discharge their duties. He further expressed optimism that the new nominees will bring their wealth of experience and expertise to bear in transforming the youth sector.

The Minister and Minister of State for Youth will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of youth-focused policies and initiatives. This includes policies aimed at promoting the economic, educational and social development of young people in the country.

The Minister and Minister of State for Youth will also be responsible for working with other stakeholders in the government and private sector to ensure that youth-focused policies are effectively implemented.
