Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media & Publicity and Official Spokesperson of President Tinubu, has announced his indefinite leave of absence to attend to a pressing family medical matter.
In a statement released on Friday, Ngelale revealed that he submitted a memo to the Chief of Staff to the President, informing his office of his decision to step away from his duties to “frontally deal with medical matters presently affecting my immediate, nuclear family.”
“This agonizing decision was taken after significant consultations with my family over the past several days as a vexatious medical situation has worsened at home,” Ngelale explained.
As a result, Ngelale will be taking a pause from his functions as Special Adviser, Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, and Chairman of the Presidential Steering Committee on Project Evergreen.
While expressing his commitment to national service, Ngelale acknowledged that his family’s well-being takes precedence at this critical time. “I look forward to returning to full-time national service when time, healing, and fate permit,” he said.
Ngelale respectfully requested privacy for his family during this challenging period, saying, “I respectfully ask for some privacy for my family and I during this time.”
