Umahi Dissolves Ebonyi State Executive Council

Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi has dissolved the State Executive Council after a meeting held at the Exco Chambers of the Government House in Abakaliki on Friday.

The Governor who recently the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC) may be making the latest move to reinvent his political mileage in the State.

Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Secretary to the State Government, Kenneth Ugbala, said the decision taken by the government is to enhance performance and increase the efficiency of government deliverables in the state.

According to the government, the dissolution to be carried out in phases will afford some of the ministries, departments, and agencies to appraise their work.

It is also to give the government the opportunity to appraise different ministries, departments, and agencies and strengthen capacity building.

The SSG went further to reel out those not affected by the current move of the government to bring more efficiency to the work of governance in Ebonyi State.

Meanwhile, the SSG, commissioners overseeing ministries such as Information, Internal Security, and Finance amongst 25 officials retained their portfolios, while 81 others cutting across ministries, departments, and agencies were relieved of their positions.
