The Eje of Ankpa town in Kogi State has been kidnapped by men of the underworld, Njenje Media News can report.
The Kogi State Police Commissioner, Ayuba Ede while briefing newsmen said the monarch was abducted while entering a mosque for prayers on Friday, December 18.
He further added that the Police had made efforts to begin the rescue operation for the traditional ruler and all entry and exit points in the State are being monitored.
Kogi State Information Commissioner, Mr Kingsley Fanwo in his reaction to the incident told newsmen that efforts are in top gear to make sure the monarch is safely rescued.
In his words;
“The state government is working with security agencies to ensure his release.
“The Kogi state government has also put machinery in motion to ensure even more stringent security network during this yuletide.
“The people of Ankpa should remain calm as government is on top of the situation. We remain committed to security of lives and property.”
