Today, United States of America new President, Mr Joe Biden and his Deputy, Mrs. Kamala Harris would be sworn in and would take oath of office.
Njenje Media News recalls that Joe Biden had beaten outgoing President, Donald Trump in both the popular and electoral college votes in the November 2020 election.
This would be the first time in 150 years that the outgoing President would not be attending his succesor’s inauguration.
CNN reports that Biden will take the oath of office on the West Front of the US Capitol, but there will be no public parade from the Capitol to the White House. The celebrations will be mostly virtual, and the inaugural balls will be replaced by a prime-time television special.
