US Embassy In Nigeria Raises Alarm Over Elevated Threat In Major Nigerian Hotels

The United States Embassy and Consulate in Nigeria has warned of a security threat in Nigerian hotels.

The U.S mission in a statement warned of elevated threat to major hotels in Nigeria’s larger cities and advised it’s citizens to consider this information when arranging lodging or visiting major hotels in Nigeria.

“SECURITY ALERT: ELEVATED THREAT TO MAJOR HOTELS IN NIGERIA’S LARGER CITIES

“Location: Major hotels in Nigeria’s larger cities

Date: November 3, 2023

Event: Elevated threat to major hotels in Nigeria’s larger cities

“The U.S. Government is aware of credible information that there is an elevated threat to major hotels in Nigeria’s larger cities. The Nigerian security services are working diligently to counter the threat.

“The U.S. Department of State advises U.S. citizens to consider this information when arranging lodging or visiting major hotels in Nigeria.

Actions to take:

Exercise vigilance at major hotels.
Be alert to your surroundings.
Keep a low profile.
Review the Travel Advisory for Nigeria .
