We Would Vehemently Resist Fuel Price Increase — NANS Vows

NANS vows to resist Fuel price increase

Nigerian Students Umbrella body, The National Association of Nigerian Students has said it would resist any increase in the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, with all its might, Njenje Media News reports.

At a news conference in Abuja, the nation’s capital, NANS warned the Federal Government on what it described as inflicting pains on the suffering masses with the incessant increase of the pump price of petrol in the country and vowed to vehemently resist a hike in petrol price at a time where Nigerians and most especially students from poor homes who are already suffering the brunt of harsh economic policies.

The student group expressed its dissatisfaction with the prevalent and unwarranted increase in tariffs and cost of products and services rendered by agencies that are directly under the control of the federal government of Nigeria.

NANS further opined that over the last few years, the current administration has implemented an increase in the cost of purchasing petroleum products in the country, saying this has badly affected the lifestyle and living conditions of virtually every Nigerian.
